Marquette

Located in the northern part of Michigan, U.S., Marquette is a central city in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula, and plays host to some of the largest medical institutions and universities in the district. The city faces Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes, and is surrounded by lush forests. In winter the temperature remains below zero, which is ideal for winter sports. Its population is about 21,000, and the land area is approximately 30 square kilometers.

Taber

Situated in the southern part of the Province of Alberta, Canada, the Town of Taber is 215 kilometers east of the Rocky Mountains and lies about one hundred kilometers north of the United States border. Its major economic base is the processing of foods, such as potatoes, sugar beets, and corns grown on its farms. Around 7,700 people, including many immigrants from Japan, central Europe, Poland, and the Netherlands, live within its roughly 16 square kilometers.

Jang-am-myeon

Jang-am-myeon (Jang-am Village) is located about 200km south of Seoul, South Korea. Across the great Geum River (Baengmagang), it lies south of Buyeo, the site of the last capital of the Baekje kingdom. Approximately eighty percent of its households engage in farming, such as watermelon and rice production, and sericulture. The population is about 3,500, and the land area is roughly 48 square kilometers.

Changde is located in the northwestern part of Hunan Province, with Dongting Lake – made famous by Tu Fu’s poem Mounting Yeyang Pavilion - bordering it to the east. The city is also associated with Peach Blossom Source, a fictional story by Tao Yuan-ming, and is visited by many who come to see the beautiful peach blossoms. While its urban district is undergoing rapid development, the city boasts nature’s bounty in its various environs. Besides farming, its main industries are tobacco, brewing, and textiles. The population is about six million, and the land area is approximately 18,190 square kilometers.

Rattvik

Situated in the Dalarna region, the “Heartland of Sweden,” Rattvik preserves cultural traditions of the past, including a midsummer festival and folk dancing. It is located on the east shore of Lake Siljan, 400km northwest of the capital city of Stockholm. Its key industries are woodworking and housing, and the city is a popular long-standing tourist destination. The population is about 11000, and the land area is 1,932 square kilometers.

Tongyeong

Flourishing through coastal fishing and marine product processing, Tongyeong City, South Korea, is located approximately 150km west of Pusan at the tip of the Goesong Peninsula.
